I am proud to be a mother, a U.S. Army Veteran, a wife and an Avonworth Administrator.
I began my administrative journey with 9 years of teaching at Upper St. Clair High School. I taught High School Social Studies and especially loved teaching Psychology and Sociology. My favorite parts of teaching included opportunities for mentoring, student outreach in Pittsburgh and the Dominican Republic and working to create an environment where student felt comfortable with themselves, honest with their strengths and weaknesses and inspired to help others. Prior to teaching, I attended the University of Pittsburgh and then served 5 years in the United States Army. I was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC and loved my time in many roles including Rigger Platoon Leader and Jumpmaster. I traveled to and served in Iraq and Saudi Arabia during that time and it was the children that I met during that time that sparked my passion to become an educator. The joy of learning and connecting on a child's face is the same gift, no matter the country. I am excited to be at Avonworth for my second year as the Assistant Principal in the Middle School and High School. It is an honor to serve this community and to work with our amazing young people. Each student and teacher has such a unique set of talents and abilities and I am thrilled I can help in a small way on their individual journeys.
